Beliès

 Beliès is a Belgian family business with a passion for fresh Mediterranean produce. Our name is a reference to the product that started it all 15 years ago: eliès or ελιές, the Greek word for olives. Over the years, we have broadened our expertise in fresh Mediterranean specialities, namely olives, dips and antipasti. We operate from our own state-of-the-art production site in Belgium, serving the wider European market. Our expertise is built on four pillars: authentic products, superior quality, an incisive commercial approach, and well-organised production. We are always on the lookout for new partnerships within the sector, both for our clients and our suppliers.

2025

Beliès formalizes the completion of its acquisition of King Cuisine (Tilburg).

2025

Pietercil Group evolves into a holding structure with maximum autonomy for its business pillars: Beliès led by CEO Jan De Brauwer, and Brokerage, led by CEO Stéphanie Teetaert.

2022

Pietercil celebrates its 75th anniversary!

2021

Renovation of the offices in Ternat

2017

Pietercil Barends is moving its operations from Zoetermeer to new offices in Rotterdam.

2017

Michel De Brauwer becomes Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Katrien Bousson is appointed as CEO

2016

We acquire Luxembourg firm Agences Commerciales Betty Lorang, changing our name to Pietercil Lorang in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg

2013

We acquire Ça-va-seul from the Reckitt Benckiser group. This iconic Belgian brand, established in 1889, has a rich history, offering an extensive range of shoecare  products

2012

We open our new Beliès production facility in Tessenderlo

2010 - 2000

2004:  We take our first steps into Mediterranean specialities with the acquisition of the Epifine brand, which offers an extensive range of olives, antipasti, pastas and herbs.

2005:  We establish Beliès, a manufacturer of fresh Mediterranean products (olives, tapenades, etc.) for our own Pietercil brands (Epifine, Aperifine, Granoliva), as well as for private label.

2007: We acquire Weetabix France

 

2000 - 1990

In the 1990s, Pietercil established a foothold in France, and acquisitions followed in Belgium as well.

 

1992: Pietercil enters the French market with the establishment of Pietercil France.

1994: We acquire Delby’s & Quality Food Products Benelux in Belgium. 

1997: We acquire Interco S.A. in France, becoming Pietercil Interco SA. 

 

1990 - 1980

After selling the dairy wholesale business, Pietercil shifted its focus to brokerage activities. Several merges and acquisitions follow: 


1980: We merge with Hobelco. 
1984: With our acquisition of Resta, we go on to form new food broker entity Pietercil Resta. 
1985: Through our acquisitions of Barends and Unicura, we expand our activities across into the Netherlands.
